Ava Smyth
Joyful Noise Director
Hi, I’m Ava! I’ve been part of the A Joyful Noise family since 2019, and from the moment I stepped into my first classroom here, I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be. I started as a Lead Teacher and quickly found myself moving into leadership and now as the Director, I get to support our amazing staff, partner with our incredible families, and best of all, still soak up all the joyful chaos that comes with educating young children.
I’ve been working in the early childhood field for over ten years, and I can honestly say it’s my true calling. There’s nothing better than watching children grow, learn, and blossom into their own unique selves. I’ve learned so much about child development, family partnerships, and the kind of impact high-quality care can have on a child’s life. I love being able to create an environment where kids feel safe, curious, and confident to be themselves. Their creativity, resilience, and big personalities inspire me every day.
I hold an Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education with a goal of continuing my studies toward a bachelor’s degree because, even after all these years, there’s always something new to learn when you’re working with children! I believe in leading with passion, kindness, and just the right amount of coffee. I’m always here to support our staff and children, from jumping into circle time, helping with a tricky transition, or cheering on our team as they chase their professional goals. I’m passionate about being hands-on and showing up whenever needed, because I believe this field has the power to change lives every day.
When I’m not at Joyful Noise, you can probably find me soaking up the sun or by the water (whenever our trusty Washington weather allows) or spending time with my two tiny but mighty Yorkies, Kofi and Roxy, who are the cutest office assistants and basically run the household.
I feel incredibly blessed to do what I love and to be part of such a warm, supportive community. My goal is always to lead with heart, lift others up, and make sure every child, family, and staff member feels truly valued here.

Shaianna Kleweno
I have had the privilege of leading A Joyful Noise's school-age program for nearly three years. In January, our program relocated to Harrison Square Presbyterian, merging with A Joyful Noise, which was previously known as The Learning Tree Club located nearby. This move has unified our operations under one roof, strengthening our collaborative efforts and services.
My career path has consistently centered around my deep-seated passion for working with children, beginning in 2015. Throughout my professional journey, I have accumulated extensive experience primarily focused on school-age children, spanning various centers and licensed group home facilities. My background includes specialized knowledge in trauma-based care, special needs support, and comprehensive childcare. I also have first-hand personal experience from raising my children and many foster children over the last 9 years. My passion for children goes far beyond my career, I believe deeply in providing love and support for all children.
Equipped with an Associate of Arts degree, I am currently pursuing further education towards a bachelor's degree in social work or a related field. My dedication lies in enhancing the quality of services for families and fostering meaningful connections with the children entrusted to our care. Witnessing their growth and development remains the most rewarding aspect of my role. Our classroom environment accommodates a diverse age range, allowing us to observe significant developmental and social milestones.
I am committed to staying current on the latest best practices to ensure optimal care and support for every child in our program. It takes a village to raise children and I am happy to be a part of your village!(360) 669-5087

Sarah Adams
Assistant Director
I have worked at A Joyful Noise for three years and have such a deep passion working with children. I have obtained an associate degree in Early Childhood Education from the Centralia College. As soon as I started working with children, I knew this was something I wanted to do as it is so meaningful and rewarding to me. Having a job in which I get to enjoy children and watch them grow is more than I could ask for and I feel so thankful each day. I have always wanted to work in the field of education as I have always hoped to be a safe person for the children who may lack that in their lives.

Jalli Clark
Lead Teacher/ Third in Command
“I started working at A Joyful Noise two years ago. This has been my first childcare job and its safe to say that I quickly fell in love with it. Apart from being a Mom myself, this center, team and the children have taught me so much. I’ve grown to learn more about childhood development at a deeper level, gained so much patience and truly understand that I am making a difference in these young lives. This job is so rewarding and I am always extremely proud watching the children hit milestones as they grow and develop. Plus, nothing beats the running hugs and hearing the children shout “Miss Jalli” as soon as I walk in the facility.”
