August Recap
August is officially over! Throughout the summer, we kept busy with loads of fun activities. With the school year starting back up, we wanted to give one last look into what we did this August.
Our toddler classrooms put their painting smocks on and unleashed their inner artist! Art in our toddler classrooms focuses on what is called “process art”. This is an approach to making artworks that focuses on the process of creating the art instead of focusing on the end result. We love this approach to creating art because it creates an immersive experience for the artists and lets them take the lead on how their artwork will look in the end.
Our preschool and pre-K classrooms have continued preparing for the school year. Their classrooms are geared towards getting children prepared for kindergarten. We do this through our curriculum which teaches about things such as recognizing and writing numbers and letters. Our preschool classroom has had so much fun sorting out toys! We love sorting activities because they expand the children’s knowledge of shapes, colors, and textures. Sorting activities can also introduce mathematical concepts which can be further expanded on in our pre-K classroom!
We gave our school age students a fun-filled sendoff back into the school year! The last month of their summer consisted of fun classroom challenges, running through the sprinkler, Disney movie days, and a trip to the local park!
